The effect of one session

The effect of one session

…….. These and other myths about massage will be the subject of this article.

Myth №1. “Massage removes toxins from the body.”

Fact: This is a common claim. However, this myth is far from what science tells us. It is undeniable that massage helps blood circulation, improves lymphatic flow and relieves tension. But in the human body, the kidneys and liver are responsible for filtering the blood – and thus getting rid of harmful substances. And anything we don’t “need” is naturally eliminated.

Myth №2: “Therapeutic massage is always painful”. Or even “Massage must be painful or it is not effective”.

Fact: This is the most common myth we’ve come across. And we relentlessly repeat: “No, no, and no”. If you are in a lot of pain, your body will tense up and the effectiveness of the massage will decrease dramatically. If you are in pain – do not be patient, tell the specialist. A professional masseur always works on the “feedback principle”. This means that the intensity of the massage changes according to the reaction of the client’s tissues and personal feelings. Pain should always remain tolerable and decrease with each session.

And Myth №3 – the opposite of the previous one – “If there is pain during a massage, it is being given unprofessionally”.

Fact: This is not true either. Pain (we repeat – tolerable!) can be present during a therapeutic or classical massage. Let’s say, for example, when the specialist works with “clamps” or in areas where blood circulation is difficult. Anti-cellulite massage can also be painful during the first few sessions.

Myth №4. “The effect of a good massage is immediate” or “results after one session”.

Fact: When it comes to relaxation massage, this myth can be accepted as true. Because the main goal – to “relax” – is achieved here and now. In most cases, however, massage works on the principle of cumulative effect. This means that in the case of body sculpting, wellness or injury recovery massages, you can only expect initial improvements after one session. Achieving significant change requires time, regularity, discipline… and a good professional. In most cases, a course of 8-10 treatments is sufficient for our guests.

Myth №5. “Classic massage has outlived its usefulness”.

Fact: The market of massage parlours in Warsaw (and not only) is more diverse than ever. Exotic massages, spa programmes, a wide range of equipment – your eyes will be dazzled. However, it is important to understand that all modern massages are based on the same principles. Yes, specific techniques from different schools are superimposed on the base. But the basis is classical massage.

Myth №6. “If you suddenly feel ill, it’s time for a massage”.

Fact: Quite the opposite. Severe pain is a direct contraindication to massage. If you have a “twisted back”, “something is crushed”, “can’t turn”, “shots in the lower back”, “knee won’t bend” – especially if it happened suddenly – you should postpone the massage. And only after the acute condition has been treated and a doctor has been consulted can you go to a masseur.

Myth №7. “If I don’t have back pain, I don’t need a massage”.

Fact: If you have a sedentary job, spend a lot of time driving, sitting in front of a computer screen, carrying a baby or sleeping on an uncomfortable couch, you may already have back problems. You just don’t know it. The thing is, pain is your body’s clear signal for help. Professional masseurs recommend having a preventive massage every 3-4 months. Then you will be able to find out the real situation and take preventive measures without waiting for pain.

Myth №8. There is a better massage than at IvRoxe.

Fact: The best way to find out the truth is to come for a session. We are waiting for you 7 days a week to prove that IvRoxe is the best place to debunk all the myths about massage.
